Anyone ever use Hackberry for anything on a guitar? I was thinking about
bindings. How well does it bend?

Thanks,

Hackberry can have cool mooncrescents, similar to birdseye maple.

Isn't this stuff pretty white wood with little figure mostly?

Slice some up and try to bend it. First I've heard of using Hackberry.

It's terribly soft, isn't it?
The locals around here think of it as an overgrown weed. Hardly anything redeeming about it. (In their minds.)
I've never worked it, but perhaps that's just because of all the bad press it gets around E. Texas.
You might want to go with a harder species for your bindings.
